Polyposis of the colon is a growth which is non-malignant and therefore is not cancerous. The polyps which form on a mucous membrane then becomes the illness polyposis of the colon as the growth then lines the bowel within the body. There can be a number of lumps which are formed or a single growth of which can come in numerous shapes and sizes and will depend on the individual suffered.

Someone suffering from the illness will tend to notice bleeding and may also notice some mucus discharge from the anus. It is possible in some cases for the individual to suffer from diarrhoea. The illness may occur due to cells within the bowel going wrong, however there are some cases of polyposis of the colon which occur through the generations of some families. It tends to be known that the condition actually develops within the body in early adulthood however does not become president until sometime in your 30’s. The organs within our body do many things and we rely on them for everything we do as with out them we would not survive but like anything else they are susceptible to failure or in some cases inflammation which can cause illnesses such as ulcerative colitis and crohn’s disease. Therefore if truth be known some illnesses suffered could cause other illnesses and so therefore have a knock on effect within the body. There is a large amount of medication which is available and so illnesses can be controlled and even treated and never return again, however we just do not know what is going to happen to any of us. We may be more aware of some illnesses purely because a family member has previously suffered from an illness and so then may be more likely to notice if we are showing signs of such an illness.

It is possible that on rare occasions someone suffering from such an illness then is diagnosed cancer as the polyps have then become cancerous. If this then occurs a client would then need an operation to remove the bowel in order to reduce the risk of the cancer spreading to other parts of the body. Cancer is a major concern and kills millions of people and so medical attention needs to be undertaken as soon as possible. Typically critical illness cover covers cancer as one of their illnesses, and so if suffered such a condition which then developed into cancer you would have to submit a claim to your insurance provider for them then to asses the case to then make a decision.
